This Privacy Policy explains how ArcRelay handles information relating to you. We follow local-first, data-minimization, and transparent-boundary principles: a task that can be completed on your device or directly between devices you choose is not uploaded to ArcRelay merely for analytics convenience.
Scope
This Policy applies to the arcrelay.app website and to ArcRelay Suite, SubnetDesk, Sniptra, and other ArcRelay products, download pages, and support channels that expressly reference it.
Third-party websites, applications, software repositories, app stores, download sources, and network services follow their own rules. For example, GitHub links, app-store installations, and third-party update sources you configure are subject to those services' privacy policies.
Information we process
When you visit the website
- Request and security information: our hosting and content-delivery provider may process your IP address, request time, requested URL, browser and device type, referring page, and security-event information to deliver pages, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures.
- Language preference: a first-party cookie named
arcrelay-localeremembers the language you select for up to one year. - Appearance preference: the website can store your light, dark, or system theme selection in browser local storage until you clear site data or change the setting.
The website code currently uses no third-party advertising cookies, creates no cross-site advertising profile, and includes no third-party analytics script for measuring visits.
When you use an ArcRelay product
The information a product processes depends on the feature and may include:
- content you choose to create, read, transfer, or print, such as screenshots, OCR text, clipboard content, files, print jobs, and automation inputs;
- device names and identities, public keys or certificate fingerprints, network addresses, pairing relationships, permission scopes, connection state, and transfer-integrity information;
- preferences, history, favorites, retention rules, and other configuration stored on your device; and
- local diagnostic information generated for reliability and security, such as software version, platform, operation results, and errors.
ArcRelay products generally process this information on your device or directly between trusted devices you select. The applicable product page, feature documentation, and in-product notice describe the specific data path, retention behavior, and platform limitations. We do not automatically receive your screenshots, clipboard content, files, keystrokes, print documents, or OCR results merely because you use those features locally. Information leaves the originating device only when you use a feature that requires transfer, select an external service, or intentionally submit material to us.
When you contact us
If you submit a question, bug report, feature request, or other inquiry, we process the contact details, message, and attachments you provide. Diagnostic bundles and screenshots can contain device information, file paths, or personal content. Review and remove unnecessary sensitive information before submitting them. Never post passwords, keys, private files, or other information you do not want to make public in a public repository issue.
Why we process information
We process information only as needed to:
- provide the website, downloads, and product features you choose to use;
- remember your language and appearance settings;
- establish trusted-device connections, carry out authorized actions, and protect data integrity;
- prevent fraud, attacks, abuse, and other security risks;
- answer support requests, correct defects, and improve reliability; and
- comply with applicable law and protect the legitimate rights, safety, and integrity of users, the public, and ArcRelay.
Depending on your location and the circumstances, our legal basis may be performance of an agreement with you, your consent, compliance with a legal obligation, or legitimate interests in securing and improving the services. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
How information is stored and shared
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-site targeted advertising. Information may move in the following limited circumstances:
- Devices and recipients you select: when you initiate pairing, transfer, remote control, clipboard synchronization, printing, or another collaboration feature, the relevant information goes to the device or recipient you select.
- Service providers: website hosting, content delivery, security, and software-distribution providers process technical information as needed to provide those services. arcrelay.app is currently hosted and delivered through Cloudflare.
- Third-party services you choose: examples include GitHub, app stores, update sources, and network services you configure. Their terms and privacy policies also apply when you enable them.
- Law and safety: we may preserve or disclose relevant information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users, the public, or ArcRelay.
International processing
Website hosting, source-code hosting, and software distribution may process technical information outside your country or region, where data-protection rules may differ. We take reasonable measures required by applicable law and minimize cross-border transfers determined by ArcRelay. Data paths created by devices, servers, VPNs, update sources, or third-party services you configure are determined by your configuration together with those services.
Retention
- The language cookie lasts up to one year. The theme preference remains in your browser until you change it or clear site data.
- Website hosting and security logs are retained by the relevant provider for the period required by its configuration and policies.
- Product data generally remains on your device or a receiving device you select until you delete it, clean it up, uninstall the product, or apply the product's retention settings. System backups may delay complete deletion.
- Support information you intentionally submit is kept as long as needed to complete the request, maintain necessary records, and satisfy legal obligations, then deleted or de-identified.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including minimizing collection, making permission scopes explicit, authenticating device identities, checking transfer integrity, and limiting access. No system can guarantee absolute security. Keep software current, verify paired devices and permissions, and protect your operating-system accounts, networks, keys, and backups.
Your choices and rights
You can use product settings to manage pairing, permissions, history, and retention. Browser controls let you clear cookies and local storage. You may also stop using a feature or third-party service.
Depending on the law where you live, you may have rights to access, receive a copy of, correct, supplement, or delete personal information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; or complain to a supervisory authority. We will respond after verifying your identity and confirming the request's applicable scope. Security requirements, legal obligations, or the rights of others may prevent immediate deletion of some information.
Where applicable, residents of the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, California, and other jurisdictions may exercise the rights granted by their local law. ArcRelay does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly defined under US state privacy laws.
Children
ArcRelay products are intended for general users who can manage their own devices and permissions; they are not directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through the website. If you believe a child has provided inappropriate information to us, contact us using the channel below.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when products, data paths, service providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the date at the top of this page and describe material changes through the website, release notes, or an appropriate in-product notice. A new version takes effect when published unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Do not submit personal information in a public issue. If no suitable private channel is listed, first state only that you need to make privacy contact and do not attach sensitive material.
